Gas leaks in Wentworth Falls
Wentworth Falls is in the upper Mountains, colder than the lower Mountains. It has a mix of village streets and bush blocks, and many homes back onto bush.
What is different about Wentworth Falls
Some streets have mains gas, but plenty of homes on larger blocks run on LPG bottles. If you are on bottles, the regulator, hoses and bottle stand outside are your responsibility, and so is checking them.
Bush blocks bring other issues. Leaf litter builds up around bottles and meters, and winter frost stiffens hoses. Damp under floors can rust fittings that nobody sees.
Gas heaters are common, as the nights stay cold well into spring. That use is enough to wear out hoses and flues.
If you have moved into a home with a gas setup you know nothing about, a safety check is a useful first step. See gas safety checks for rentals, and heater service for owners.
